What is TDS – Tax Deducted at Source?

TDS Under Old Regime
The old tax regime offers multiple exemptions and deductions like:
- Standard Deduction (₹50,000 - ₹75,000)
- Section 80C (Investments up to ₹1.5 lakh)
- Section 80D, 24(b), 10(13A), etc.
TDS Under New Regime
The new regime offers reduced slab rates but does not allow most exemptions and deductions. The decision depends on your investment profile and salary structure.
